End of the project

The whole project proved to be successful and extremely useful to all partners countries. We learned a lot, created lots of presentations and lesson scenarios and started long-term international cooperation. For more about the project results look at: https://teletubist.wixsite.com/sciencerasmus

We hope to meet once again and work on another project!

25 October 2019

It was the last day of activities in Poland. We started with culinary workshops and learnt how to cook traditional Polish dishes: dumplings of different types and sour rye soup. The best part, as usual, was eating although the preparations were funny as well. Afterwards, we went sightseeing and said goodbye to The Old Town. At the end of the day we summed up the whole project and were given certificates.  The next day our partners would go back to our countries. But we knew we would never forget these days spent on work and fun.

A great and meaningful day as we went to Hel, which for our guests sounded ambiguous to say the least. Hel Penisnsula turned out to be a real heaven, though. It was all thanks to the beautiful weather, the Baltic Sea and great atmosphere.

We visited ,,The Blue School'' where we participated in educational activities connected with marine life and environmental issues.

First, we took part in some experiments. We measured high blood pressure in normal circumstances and then with our heads in water. The results were quite interesting, especially in the case on one student.

Then we had a great pleasure of watching how the seals were being fed. We also learned a lot about the inhabitants of the seal; shelter in Hel.

Then we went for a walk by the sea and faced real challenge, namely ....a haul. This is the technique of trying to catch some little marine creatures . To do that, the students had to get dressed into special clothes and go into water. That demanded lots of courage but they were successful and even caught some .... shrimps (it turned out that there are 3 types of them in the Baltic Sea !!!).

Erasmus+, Day 3. Today again was a day full of acquiring knowledge, building relations and absorbing the beauty of the worlld. On Wednesday we admired the largest castle in the world measured by land area. We learnt a lot about the history of the Teutonic order, the life of medieval knights and the way people in castles and monasteries lived in he Middle Ages. It is worth mentioning that the castle is listed on UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After lunch we came back to Gdańsk, where we organized ,,The Polish Dinner''. We showed our partners presentations about Polish cuisine.

After games and presentations we got down to the real purpose of the meeting, namely - eating. We tried Polish salads prepared by great Polish students, Polish sausages, Polish bread , Polish pies (I don't mean ,,dogs'' here) , Polish tomatoes, Polish lard, Polish pickleds cucumbers .. and many other Polish things.

Erasmus+ Day 2. Today we started our day in The Sewage Plant in the East of Gdańsk. There we learned what happens with the waste we produce using the toilet and...throwing different thinhs into our household ,,sewage'' system. That experience was too extreme for some more sensitive students as the smell accompanying the visit was really difficult to bear,. Still, we think it was worth it and now we appreciate fresh air more. We are really grateful for kindness and hospitality of the guides who told us everything about the sewage sytem in the Tricity.

Another great point of the programme were the lessons of Physics and Chemistry. The Physcis lesson was about the way we breathe and based on some interesting experiments on spirometry. The chemistry lesson was connected with water and its secrets and the students participated in experiments again.

The greatest moment was when we all went for a long walk to Oliwa Park. We could admire beautiful autumn views and visit The Oliwa Cathedral. It is difficult to describe the delight we felt looking at this old park full of treees, flowers and ...squirrels. We learnt a lot during the day but that walk with was the most precious moment of this Tuesday...

The first day of Erasmus + project ,,Culture meets science". Partners from Bulgaria, Italy and Poland were greeted by Piotr Kowalczuk, the Vice President of Gdańsk who said so many meaningful and important words to the participants. Then we participated in ice breaking activities and got to know each other. Finally, we had to start working seriously and took part in Physics and Chemistry lessons. They were about renewable energy and food ingredients. Aftewards, we had a city game in the Old Town where we could admire the most beautiful and significant landmarks of Gdańsk.

Today is the day when we have a feedback session and summarise mobility activities. We work on the report of the whole week and prepare ourselves for the next mobility. Before we say good bye, we participate in a field trip to Lecce, which is a great experience. We realize that we haven't even noticed how quickly the time passed by while learning, understanding, experimenting...
